“Care Home Shutdown”

Jessica Murray, the social affairs correspondent for the Guardian, published a story today that makes pretty shocking reading. It’s a tale of vulnerable people not receiving the care they need and deserve, at the hands of a private care home which charged thousands of pounds every month. The home was found by the Care Quality Commission to be “inadequate” in all areas and even scored as low at 25 out of 100 in one particular category. The reason I’ve been involved in this, is because I had a relative at the home and after the emergency evacuation took place I started to look into the matter myself. Having found out what was really going on, I contacted Jessica and handed over what I’d found.
